Fault blamer

IMG_0041

“The fault is in the blamer. The spirit sees nothing to criticize.” ~ Rumi

We are judgmental. We have become critical about everything. Opinions, blame, taking sides, curse and arguments are part of our daily lives. We see this everywhere. Everything around us takes a shape or form about complaints. The key issue about all this is wanting the world to work a certain way. If it is not our way, we tend to have opinions. We want people, things and relationships to be exactly how we want it. We are so immersed in ourselves most of the time that we tend not to even see the other person’s feelings. Its about us, it is about our ego. We are becoming less and less empathetic towards others and our surroundings. We are finding fault in everything and everyone around us. We have become less and less satisfied with what we have. Most of the time we are outward looking and always trying to find a reason to point outward and pass the blame. We have forgotten to look inwards and many times we might be the reason of the problem or fault. How can we ignore ourselves and only point to others all the time? Where does blame originate? It comes only from our mind. Judgement happens only in the mind. Opinions need logic. Logic needs analysis. Analysis needs right and wrong. All this happens in our mind. Mind controls us most of the time, so the more we are controlled only in logic and finding faults.

Drop all that you know, for everything is immaterial in the plane of the spirit.

When you see everyone around you as just the spirit and the body as a covering – then you do not see the mind. You see fellow souls and equal spirits. We are totally one and the same. Be it a young boy, a little girl, a woman, a man or a withering old body. Everything is the same. Even if you look at the other beings – animals, insects, birds and all known forms – you will realize we are all covered by the body which covers the spirit. Mind rests in the body and if you remove all of this – there is nothing to be opinionated about. There is no reason to logic. There is no memory. There is neither past nor future. We are all one and the same and the minute we see each other as equals – we will never point externally. Pointing to the other becomes meaningless as at that level, as you are pointing at yourself. You are no different from the other. That brings not just compassion, it brings oneness. It brings the humility and nurtures care for each other. There is no ego which can play at that level. You are also equally insignificant as the other. All of us are no different from the universe.

When can you move away from this mind? Mind is the main reason for our judgements. Lets leave it behind. Become a neutral person, there is absolutely no right and wrong in a plane which belongs to the spirit. Drop all that you know, for everything is immaterial in that plane.

Love now

IMG_0959

“Now is where love breathes.” ~ Rumi

We have started taking love for granted. Love is something which is started by the body, we realize it sometimes goes to the heart. Most of the times, due to this material world we are attracted to physical appearances. Especially when physical appearances combined with words which make us temporarily happy – we construe it for love. Some other times when we meet someone we know it is beyond the body, we tend to exude love which we cannot control. But your heart suddenly beats for that person or place. You feel automatically at exuberance, at your peak of happiness. Some other times even better, we just feel extremely comfortable, at peace. That is not connected to any physical changes in you. It is just limitless joy and a sense of complete satisfaction. That feeling which you never had before, never experienced before, but just completely engulfs you. This also combines with a familiar feeling of knowing this before sometime, but not relate to it. You keep thinking that you know this feeling, but cannot remember. That is love. This might not be for a person alone, it can be for a place, thing or environment. That feeling of being with yourself.

Love cannot live if you bind it to conditions. Love must be unbound, unconditional.

We generally connect love to “I loved you because….”, “You were so different, I loved you then…”, “If you become this…I will love you”. We tend to connect love to conditions. There is no real love then. Love is bound to certain of your mind’s conditions. Love is not breathing then. What happens when you unbound love? How does unconditional love feel like? You have no memory of the past nor expectations of the future. All that is there is that moment that you feel totally and completely at peace. That moment can only happen if you are absorbed in the present. The “now” is totally devoid of any memories. Every moment is new, every moment is special and it is an opportunity to live it fully. If we lament about the past or aspire for the future, we are not experiencing what that moment is meant for. That moment is for you to experience that love which is around you. Find solace in that love which is totally unconditional.

It is time to first understand what that love is. That love which is devoid of any connections to the known you. If you are able to associate any love to any part of your body or heart – think more carefully. That kind of love is linked to satisfying your needs in the future or based on your past experiences. Love has to be that feeling of the moment which makes you comfortable, makes you at peace rather than increasing your passion or lust or attraction. Love that makes way for peace, calmness to appear and give birth to compassion. That is pure love. That is a feeling which can only happen in the now. Find that place, person or environment and go back there, go back home.

Empty weakness

DSC_0636

“Give your weakness to one who helps.” ~ Rumi

We have been living in a world where showing your weakness is considered really bad. When you cannot express weakness and if it has a negative connotation, why would you even uncover your weakness? We have become so used to not just seeing it, but live in a state of denial about our weakness. Only when we know what is less, we can then seek for it. There must not be any hindrances in us to go and seek what is missing in us. Accepting that we do not have someone or something is the first step towards getting there. Why do we have to see weakness in a negative light? What you do not have or possess is something that you can get or acquire. Why make a big issue out of it? When you are able to see weaknesses in this light – first acceptance is born. You accept yourself that you have some and you do not have some other. There is absolutely no right or wrong. That comes only in a state of pure acceptance. Denial has no place in this, denial is living in a constant veil of a misconception. The minute you remove denial, everything is fine. what you have and what you do not have. These lines of Rumi are part of a longer poem, which has these lines too.

Crying out loud and weeping are great resources. A nursing mother, all she does is wait to hear her child. Just a little beginning-whimper, and she’s there.

The more you deny, the more weak you get. Let go and you are free.

What we are taught is to contain and not display our weaknesses. It is true that the more we keep them, they stay with you, making you more weak. Why deny something which you do not want? If you do not want something you must let it go, or fill it with what can take that away. You have to cry out loud of your weakness. You must believe that someone is there to take care of your weakness. A mother is always waiting for the child’s cry. She knows what to do to remove that weakness of the child. The more the child contains, the more it suffers. The minute the mother knows, the pain is gone. You have to first know where and how you are weak, say it aloud, be open and willing to let go. You do not need to be weak, you need the strength and someone is willing to give you that. Only when you consciously know what you need, you will find it. Only when you are empty, you can fill yourself. Never let weaknesses fill you, for there is no space for strength. Pour it out so your mother will come. The mother who can nurse all your wants.

There is no point of being a stone. You are made of emotions and weaknesses. There is absolutely no denial in that, let the emotions flow, let your tears out, howl in knowing your weakness – goodness and strength awaits to fill you up!

Self suspicion

IMG_0689

“I should be suspicious of what I want.” ~ Rumi

Our wants are becoming vast. The more we have, the more we want. We are tending to forget our needs – but rather go on and dream more and more – all resulting in more wants. The unfortunate thing of our lives is that whatever we want is all from this world. First are material wants – which grows from one to another. Anything material leads only to another. There is no time when we get something which we desperately wanted and that is the end of that want. It is definitely going to lead you to something else. The world also operates in such a way now. Most of the things which we want, satisfy us only temporarily. Those things are also designed in such a way, that they should not give you a permanent satisfaction. They tend to gratify you instantly, but keep you longing for more. This cycle is what this world thrives upon. Second, we want relationships. Some relationships satisfy us for a much longer period, but as we are losing patience – even that period is shrinking. We can only satisfy our want for relationships till a time we can bear with it. As the wants are changing all the time, so does our need for relationships. The more we associate our relationships to our core needs, the less we will hanker for new ones. The last is the wants for your soul. This is what we spend the most insignificant time on. It also happens that the more you satisfy your own soul, the lesser and lesser wants you will see in yourself.

Awareness makes material immaterial and relationships satisfied.

Where does your wants arise from? Typically material wants arise from your mind, relationship wants from your heart and the awareness wants from your soul. We are normally consumed by the mind then by the heart and last by the soul. The minute we are able to associate our wants to these origins, you will start to prioritize. The more deeper we go and start catering to our awareness needs of our soul – the rest of the wants become immaterial. We start to see that our awareness makes you totally at peace and at deepest satisfaction. We have to become suspicious of ourselves. Start questioning – “Why am I like this?”, “Where is this want coming from?”, “Is it really necessary?”. Even if we momentarily give in and get to that want to satisfy our senses or heart, we will not be attached to it. Whether that want is satisfied or not – it would not make any difference to you. The want needs to get suppressed but you are not affected by it. The minute you go to the origins of the want, you will see they start to disappear. They start to become immaterial. You will still have those material and relationships around you – but without any sense of attachment. They will just happen but your soul is at peace. You are enjoying no matter what the want is, because the result is not affecting you.

Go ahead, feel the need for awareness in you. If you get to the awareness, all wants disappear and make you satisfied. Be at bliss, the only way is to get yourself detached. That detachment is going to deliver you of all wants.

Dreamy world

DSCN0425

“Open your eyes, for this world is only a dream.” ~ Rumi

When do you dream? Do you like being in a dream?. Sleep is a beautiful part of life, as it kind of erases every thought for that moment of sleep. When we can sleep peacefully, almost instantly, wherever you can – is considered a blessing. Why is that as children we can sleep so peacefully and as we grow older, we tend to sleep less and less? It is simply because nothing matters so much when we are fresh in this world. We are able to let go easily. We move on. The more older we get, the more we want to hold on to. The reason we want to hold on to – is because we do not want to lose our hold, our ego and our place in this world. We are scared somehow of the limited time we have on this planet, the more when we grow older – so that we want to use every moment to establish what we want. It is also fear that drives us to stay awake as much as we can. We are fearful of leaving this world, dying. We want our dream to stay on, we want to enjoy the view.

You dream vividly with closed eyes, only when we open we see the reality.

What we are supposed to do be is exactly opposite of what we already know and what we thought is reality. When we want to dream we are sleeping, we think opening the eyes to this world is reality. If we realize and turn it around – when you open and see this world, we need to realize it is a dream in itself. We are all living in this real dream. The dream of life. What we need to do is really open our eyes. We have to open our true eyes within ourselves, that is what will show us what is the real world. The real true you, rather than this amazing dream. The dream which we have started to own and associate as real. How much we have thought it as real, that we fight for survival, hang on to things which were all made in this dream like money, relationships and faiths. All of this are bound by only rules of this dream. The minute you wake up, this will seem only like a distant memory. Let us realize that this entire life is going to flash in front of us sometime and it will pass like how a dream really passes through us. That makes our life now much simpler. There is no reason to fight over anything – or argue over anything – or repent over anything – it is all a dream. This will also pass.

Open your eyes to yourself. All this drama of your act in this dream will seem silly. Laugh over it, enjoy these moments in this dream – take only things which matter as memories. None of it that was created in this dream will matter soon. They will all vanish very quickly when you wake up in the morning, that morning when you leave this body and see your life fully – that is the morning which will matter. nothing else really truly matters.

Weep to Smile

DSCN0353

“Smiles come best to those who weep.”~ Rumi

Why do you weep? What is really a tear? – Tears are expressions of letting go. When something pushes us to weep, it is because that is so dear to us. Because we love that something or someone so much, their separation or loss is unbearable to us. The pain of that separation is what causes us to weep, shed tears. It can be a moment of extreme joy, true reunion, a real painful sorrow, a moment of deep pride, a sense of achievement, an instance of sheer disbelief, a natural pain due to physical torture – all of it gushes tears out of us. Tears are dear friends of our true emotions. The more emotional we are, the more we weep. The more we weep, our emotions get balanced. Tears are sometimes seen as a weakness. One who weeps is categorized as someone who is weak. Tears are seen as enemies of pride. “The more stiff you are, the more stable you are”. This is the problem of today’s world. We match unnecessary beliefs to our lives and make it ever complex. Tears are the best expressions of emotions and so let them be. Let tears flow incessantly when you have to express.

Weeping empties you, only to embrace something new.

If tears are merely expressions, why do you have to hide it. If you are natural, let tears flow. When you cry, you realize you feel better in your head after a while. The more you suppress yourself, the more damage it does to you. The more pain it brings physically and mentally. Getting the emotions out of your system is by weeping. If that is the way to do it, there is nothing to hide. Let it flow. The minute you have cleared it out of you, joy rushes in. The void of the emotion in you has to be replaced with something, and that something is joy. You can never welcome something if you are not empty. Weeping empties you, only to embrace something new. As humans we can never be stuck in an emotion for long, if we force ourselves to be stuck – our mind goes haywire. It cannot handle it, so it acts differently to make us mad. The natural instinct is to let go of that emotion which is bogging you down. Tears help you let go of the emotion. How much ever you are deeply hurt by something or someone, it can stay only for a part of your life. No doubt those times of your life is hard and painful. But – let it pass. let it go. The key to do that is to weep.

Be sorrowful for that time you cry, be conscious that this will also pass.

Give yourself that chance to howl in pain, only to embrace the warmth in love.

Let go of yourself amidst all the sorrow, just to know joy and smile are doting your path.

Noisy silence

IMG_0103

“Your noise is my silence.” ~ Rumi

When you are in silence, you are totally with yourself. You are introspecting, you are looking inside you, you are contemplating, you are satisfied and calm – more than anything you are at peace. You are at peace because you have taken a few moments in your life to recount yourself, you know that the answer is within you for most of your questions. That silence of being with yourself comes from being with you being in the right environment. The place exudes beauty for you, it is special for you and it is not the same for someone else. It is a place where you you are in bliss. This does not make sense for many people – as they cannot be at peace there. It is not for them, but exclusively only for you. It might happen that place is crowded, noisy, loud, small and cramped, dirty or even dingy. That place gives you the most comfort. There are such places in our lives, either the place where we grew up or the places which have left an indelible mark in our minds. It could be also with someone where the location does not matter. You could be totally at peace with that special soul, no matter where the world takes you. You are at peace the minute you are with that soul.

Being at peace amidst all the noise, is your true nature.

When that place or someone is with you, you are able to be about yourself. It is no longer the difference in you and the place or you and the other, all you see is oneness. You do not take yourself away from that place. You are so much with that place or person – you are completely in peace. That peace leads you to realization. No matter what is happening around you, no matter what the other person is saying, you are definitely moving towards realization. Nothing else matters at this point. You are so convinced that you are in the best place and the best situation that automatically you go deep inwards within you. That is what the noise is about. That noise which makes you feel safe, be aligned and be so comfortable. The baby is comfortable in the womb no matter what noises comes, as the baby is so convinced that the mother will take care.  This comfort also comes because of the enormous trust you have on the place or the person. The minute you place such a trust with a soul, your life transforms to realization.

Go ahead, find that place, identify that person who is going to take you there. Place all the trust, drop all the expectation, being at peace and being calm amidst all that noise is going to liberate you. You will be in bliss from that minute.

Beyond right and wrong

IMG_0810

“Out beyond right and wrong, there is a field – I will meet you there!” ~ Rumi

We are surrounded by rules. Over the human evolution – one thing we have created more than anything is the borders in which we are bound. There are borders for society, our life, our geographies, our behaviour, our mannerisms and eventually to our heart as well. These are supposed to bring order in our chaotic lives. There is someone entrusted with the responsibility to maintain these borders, and punish if someone is not in that boundary. We have completely bound our minds. When we bind our minds to the rules we made or make – eventually our soul struggles to fit into these rules and succumbs to it. We have to consciously remember, that rules were made by us. Everything which binds us is made my humankind. Since we as intelligent beings started to live and occupy this land, we have made rights and wrongs. We must also understand that these laws came into existence in the first place – simply because we have stopped listening to ourselves. We have ignored our true voices that is why we do things against ourselves. The more we do things against our nature, we condition ourselves to that. That is when we need rules and law.

When we move beyond rules, we find a place where our soul is free.

The true nature of soul is free. Unbound from all these bonds. Why do you need the rules of right and wrong? only to bind you to this world. Every rule is made to bind you more. We have to realise that our purpose of life is to unbind ourselves. We have to be free like our true nature which will take us out of this circle of life, sufferings. You have to go beyond the rules humanity has made. We are bound to our families, our societies, our relationships, our money, our property, our work, our friends, our happiness and our sorrows. The minute you move away from these bindings, you will realise you are totally free. You will see your beloved there. You will see your fellow souls there. You will meet your soulmate there. That is the plane which is free. That is the plane where you listen to your heart and be true to your own self. That plane there is absolutely nothing wrong or right. That plane is bliss.

Constantly look for that plane which will unbind you. That plane where you can be true. That plane is just within you. Yearn to meet your souls there. Unbinding is unlearning everything you know. Peel yourself from these rules, the true you is waiting to embrace you.

Conscious surrender

DSCN1177

“Try something different. Surrender.”~ Rumi

Today, our lives have gotten into a routine. Looking at ourselves, we are emulating the machines around us pretty much. We have fallen into a fixed routine, cyclic and sometimes mind-numbing. Things which really do not fall into that routine is specially reserved only for “vacations”. Since the time we wake up, getting to work either at home or office, managing our kids, doing groceries, going out and meeting friends, errands or even be it going to temples – unfortunately we have made it a routine. Even while we fold our hands in prayer – we are doing it as a practice and most of the times without being in that prayer. This is how our environment, the things we use have manifested in us. It is totally true that we become what surrounds us. We are surrounded by mechanical things most of our time and we tend to become machines as well. It is amazing that we do not realise it, even when we realise it partly – we can only complain. It is hardly a moment we think of getting out of it. Because getting out of it for us, is still very very physical. We want to run away from what we are doing, get out of our present duties and be in a carefree place. That for us is freedom and we hanker for that.

Surrender to who you are and not what you want to be.

The actual fact is that, you can still do everything you have to do being in society – but with a difference. The difference is not physical but internal. The difference is acceptance and not dissidence. The minute you accept who you are, accept your surroundings and realise you can still do what you really want to, it changes not just you – but everything around you, the way you see it. The minute you see everything different, eventually it changes too. The more you fight the environment, the more deeper it gets as you get bogged down. We have to rise above it. The way to rise is to surrender. Surrender is not a negative, it is an act of giving up – but doing it consciously. It is about acceptance. Accepting what comes our way. Acceptance leads to satisfaction, satisfaction leads to lesser expectation and that in turn leads to gratitude and hence the giving up of your resistance to life naturally. It is wonderful what surrender can lead us to. When we surrender internally to our soul, and listen to only what our soul tells us – the mind and heart disappear. It does take time, but when the mind and heart disappear into our soul what is left is the pure you. Surrender to your true nature, surrender to who you are and not what you want to be. You can do this, by still doing what you do, only that it makes life truly beautiful. This life, make it as beautiful as you can, be different, surrender to yourself.

Grieve happily

DSCN0475

“Don’t grieve. Anything you lose comes round in another form.” ~Rumi

What makes us sad? when we lose something we hold dear to our heart. When something leaves us which is important to us, we tend to feel bad. We really want to hold on to it. We always feel “it is ours”. We possess a lot of things, many things unwanted and many things we hold dear to. It is amazing the number of material possessions we hold on to. We gather so many things hoping that one day we will use it. We are very prepared for the rainy day, or even if it is for one day in a year – we want to hold on to that thing which we will use just once. How have we become so attached to it? Imagine a day when we do not have it, we feel sad -we want it. We may not grieve for something so material as much – but we do grieve for people, pets and living things around us. The more we are attached to someone, the minute we do not have them with us, we grieve the most. It brings us so much sadness and pain that we are not able to do anything else. We are so attached to things and people around us that we have enough to grieve every day.

Next is about qualities which we hold. Unfortunately we do not save so much good qualities in us consciously that we have enough for the rainy day. We are so busy gathering physical things and relationships, that we have very little time to gather good qualities. How many times have we consciously gathered goodness, compassion, empathy, love and kindness? Do we have enough to grieve when we lose them?

Lose yourself, lose your identity – it comes back as a greatest gift of self realisation.

Have you realised that something we might lose today, eventually comes back to us in some form? Many times we tend to lose material possessions and it comes back as great qualities for us. We do not see it as we do not see and welcome good qualities which are coming to us. Whatever goes away from you, comes back as qualities which will stop you from grief. If you lost some money and in turn nature sends you abundance kindness – you will be beyond grief as you are so kind to yourself too. Try losing ego, and it comes back as a wonderful gift of happiness and joy. Lose yourself, lose your identity – it comes back as a greatest gift of self realisation. You must lose something to gain something. When something is going away from you, be happy and ready to welcome the big gift you are about to receive. You have to trust nature and yourself enough that any grief coming your way is handled by your trust. When you are calm and happy – no grief can touch you. It can be anything – even losing a dear one – gives you a gift of becoming wiser. You tend to see what you have lost is not something lost – but you have just let go. Losing is negative whereas “letting go” is positive. Let go, it is wonderful.
